A Long Time

Fri Apr 1, 2005, 2:02 PM
A long time has passed since the last journal, not that many read this. I submitted again today, which is just about the only time I write in this. I have been working on a architectural rendering of a clubhouse for a camp, and it's finally gotten to the point of being worth showing. I'm not sure how much I'll be submitting for a while, mainly becasue i'm attempting to teach myself how to use Maya. Just going through the self teaching lessons right now, but it looks like a bit of an improvement over Bryce. We'll see what happens with it though.

Thank you very much for your nice comments and helpful suggestions on The Oculus. I'm working with DOF right now thanks to ~someole3d 's tutorial. I will probably submit a V2 for you as soon as I figure it out. Thanks again, your comments really mean alot!

Thank you very, very much for your comments on my two photographs. I really do appreciate it.

I'll definitely downsize my pictures from now on. When I first submitted my stuff to deviantart, I submitted everything at maybe 800 x (whatever is proportionate), and optimized, or something around there, so that they were all under oh, I don't know, 100 kb, and a few people said that I should keep them at a much larger size, so I keep them at 1600 x (again, whatever is proportionate) without taking them into photoshop and fixing the filesize and whatever else right now. But I think that you have a much better argument that, it's a pain in the ass to have to wait two minutes to download something, and if anyone really cares enough to want to have a larger copy of one of my pieces then we'll work something out.

Either way, I'm going to take a few of those down and resubmit them again, downsized and a few of them modified a little bit, and I'll definitely leave you another comment when I do that if you want to see a smaller (and better!) version then.
